Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Uwase Mart website and mobile application and your purchase of products from us. By placing an order or creating an account, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Who we are

Uwase Mart is operated by Uwase Mart Ltd, a company registered in Rwanda (TIN 156690246), with its address at Kicukiro, Kigali, Rwanda. You can reach us at info@uwase.rw or +250 787 710 645.

2. Ordering as a guest or with an account

You may place an order as a guest using only your name and phone number, or you may create an account. Creating an account lets you track orders, reorder quickly, save delivery addresses, and earn Ishimwe points. You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your password secure, and for all activity that happens under your account.

3. Products, availability and pricing

We sell groceries and household products at retail and, for qualifying quantities, wholesale prices. Product descriptions, images and prices are shown in Rwandan Francs (RWF) and may change. Items are subject to availability; if an item you ordered is unavailable, we will contact you to arrange a substitute, a partial fulfilment, or a refund for that item.

4. Placing an order

When you submit an order you are making an offer to buy the items in your cart. Your order is confirmed once we accept it and, where applicable, payment or a cash-on-delivery arrangement is in place. We may decline or cancel an order if an item is unavailable, if we cannot verify your details, if delivery falls outside our service area, or if we suspect fraud or misuse.

5. Payment

We accept payment by MTN Mobile Money and Cash on Delivery. For MTN Mobile Money you will receive a prompt on your phone to approve the payment. For Cash on Delivery we send a one-time code (OTP) by SMS to confirm your phone number before the order is placed; you then pay in cash when the order is delivered. You are responsible for any fees your mobile money or network provider may charge.

6. Delivery and pickup

We deliver within our serviced areas of Kigali. Delivery fees are calculated from your delivery location and the weight of your order and are shown before you pay. Where a location falls outside our current delivery area, we will let you know and you may choose pickup instead. Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic, weather, or product availability. Please make sure someone is available to receive the order at the address and phone number you provide.

7. Cancellations, returns and refunds

Because many of our products are perishable, please check your order on delivery. If an item is missing, incorrect, damaged, or of poor quality, contact us within 24 hours and we will arrange a replacement or a refund for that item. We may not be able to accept returns of perishable goods that have been opened or are no longer in a resaleable condition. Refunds are made using your original payment method or as Uwase Wallet credit, at your choice where available.

8. Ishimwe points and rewards

Registered customers may earn Ishimwe points and rewards on eligible orders. Points have no cash value except as redeemable within Uwase Mart, may expire, and may be adjusted or withdrawn if an order is cancelled or refunded or if we detect abuse of the programme. We may change the rewards programme from time to time.

9. Marketing communications

We will always send you transactional messages about your orders (for example order confirmations and delivery updates). We will only send you marketing offers and updates if you have chosen to receive them. You can opt out of marketing at any time by contacting us or using the unsubscribe option in the message. 10. Acceptable use

You agree to use Uwase Mart only for lawful purposes, to provide accurate information, and not to interfere with, misuse, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or to other users' accounts.

11. Liability

We take care to describe our products accurately and to deliver them in good condition. To the extent permitted by law, Uwase Mart Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the value of that order. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under Rwandan consumer law.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on this page applies to your order at the time you place it. Significant changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Rwanda, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Rwanda.
